Natural gas framework agreement signed between South Cyprus and Egypt
Egypt and the Greek Cypriot administration are moving toward cooperation in the energy sector.
A framework agreement in the field of natural gas was signed between the two countries on Monday evening.
The agreement, signed as part of the Egypt International Energy Exhibition and Conference held in the capital Cairo, foresees cooperation and integration between the two sides in the natural gas sector.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides also attended the signing ceremony.
According to reports in the Egyptian press, “This agreement, signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the South Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, reflects the depth of strategic relations between the two countries and their close cooperation in the energy sector.”
