Parliament establishes ferry disaster inquiry

The Republic’s Assembly has unanimously established a parliamentary investigation committee to examine the passenger ferry disaster which occurred off Girne Port on August 30.

The five-member committee will include three MPs from the National Unity Party — Sunat Atun, Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay and Hasan Küçük.

The Republican Turkish Party will be represented by Fikri Toros and Teberrüken Uluçay.,

The committee will investigate the circumstances surrounding the disaster and related issues.

The extraordinary session of the Republic’s Assembly concluded.
