“The Republic’s Memory Book Women Exhibition” opens at Lefkoşa Bedesten
A meaningful exhibition reflecting the legacy of pioneering women of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has opened to art lovers in Lefkoşa.
Organised under the leadership of the Turkish Cypriot Businesswomen’s Association, the “Republic’s Memory Book Women Exhibition” will be on display at the Bedesten until April 3.
The “Republic’s Memory Book Women Exhibition,” organised by the Turkish Cypriot Businesswomen’s Association in cooperation with the Denizli and Gaziantep Women Entrepreneurs Associations, has opened to visitors.
The exhibition, consisting of photographs of the first and pioneering women of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, was also attended by Nilden Bektaş Erhürman, the spouse of President Tufan Erhürman.
For the exhibition, which features 63 photographs, materials were drawn from the “40 Women” exhibition prepared for the 40th anniversary of the Republic, as well as from the book “Pioneering Turkish Cypriot Women of Cyprus,” prepared by the Bellapais Inner Wheel Club under the leadership of Sibel Tatar.
Speaking at the opening, GİKAD Chairperson İçim Çağıner Kavuklu highlighted the association’s mission, while Nilden Bektaş Erhürman also stressed the importance of the exhibition.
The exhibition can be visited at the Lefkoşa Bedesten until April 3, 2026.
