Prime Minister Ünal Üstel criticized the Israeli Prime Minister’s threatening remarks targeting Türkiye.
In his written statement, Üstel described Netanyahu’s remarks as disconnected from reality and stated that they strongly condemned such threatening statements.
“As clearly expressed by officials of the Republic of Türkiye, the greatest obstacle to regional peace is a mindset that disregards international law, deepens conflict, and deliberately escalates tensions” the Premier said.
“At a time when civilians are being targeted in Gaza and attacks and threats against Iran and Lebanon continue, these statements targeting Türkiye serve no purpose other than to obscure the truth” he added.
“Türkiye, just as in Cyprus, is a strong state that stands on the side of law, conscience, and humanity. This stance cannot be overshadowed by any accusation” Üstel said.
As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we stand by the just and determined stance of our motherland Türkiye. No language of threat, no aggressive rhetoric can change either Türkiye or the truth” the Premier added.
