KIB-TEK Management and EL-SEN Reach Agreement
The negotiations between the management of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) and the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Employees’ Union (EL-SEN) have concluded with an agreement. With a five-article protocol signed by the parties, the strike, which was on its ninth day, has ended.
According to the signed protocol, a four-member committee will be established on occupational health and safety, with each side appointing two members. Necessary equipment will be identified and urgent needs will be met.
The protocol also confirmed that no recruitment has taken place during this process.
An agreement was also reached regarding the freezing of decisions concerning recent promotions, which will be evaluated and implemented by the Promotion Commission after the end of election bans.
Gürcem Akalınlar will serve as the Head of the Personnel Branch until a new appointment is made.
Within the scope of the agreement, no actions or strikes will be held until the elections are completed, and no disciplinary investigations will be initiated against the personnel.
Additionally, current malfunctions will be resolved promptly, and no overtime pay will be requested for these works.
The conciliation protocol was signed by KIB-TEK Chairman of the Board Gürsel Uzun, KIB-TEK General Manager Dalman Aydın, Türk-Sen President Arslan Bıçaklı, and EL-SEN President Ahmet Tuğcu.
