Confession on Müge Anlı’s show: Lover killed husband, they held their wedding in the garden where they buried him

A murder confession emerged during the “Tatlı Sert with Müge Anlı” show concerning the missing person file of Mehmet Çabuk. İbrahim Düzgün, currently in prison, stated that his wife İlknur Düzgün—who was his lover at the time—killed Çabuk by hitting him on the head with a blunt object and that they buried his body in the home’s garden. It was also revealed that days after the murder, İlknur Düzgün and İbrahim Düzgün organized their wedding in the very garden where Mehmet Çabuk was buried.

The brother of Mehmet Çabuk, who went missing in Osmaniye in 2016, applied to Müge Anlı’s program, stating on the show that he suspected his former sister-in-law, İlknur Düzgün. İlknur Düzgün, participating in the program, explained that she met İbrahim Düzgün while still married to Mehmet Çabuk and that they had a relationship.

During the program, İlknur Düzgün stated that the murder was committed in Osmaniye, pointed the finger at her husband İbrahim Düzgün, and called out to him, saying, “Speak and save us.” The Osmaniye Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office took action by treating the statements made during the live broadcast as a formal complaint.

According to information shared during today’s broadcast, İbrahim Ozan Düzgün stated that he wanted to meet with homicide bureau teams in prison and confessed. Repeating his statement at the prosecutor’s office, Düzgün said that he and Mehmet Çabuk came from Ankara to Osmaniye on January 26, 2016, and that the next day, following an argument between them, he killed Çabuk by hitting him on the head with a blunt object and buried him in the garden of the house.

According to ATV news, detention orders issued following the statements on the broadcast were executed by teams affiliated with the Eyüpsultan District Police Department. İlknur Düzgün was taken from the studio and her mother-in-law Selma Düzgün from the hotel where she was staying, and both were taken to the police station after health checks. As she was being detained, İlknur repeatedly said, “I didn’t do anything.” Selma Düzgün also maintained that she had no knowledge of the murder. Homicide bureau teams arriving in Istanbul from Osmaniye will reportedly take the two suspects to Osmaniye for investigation procedures.

In earlier broadcasts, a viewer who called in claimed that excavation work and concrete pouring had taken place at the back of the house before İlknur and İbrahim’s wedding. Explaining that when they went to the house, they noticed the concrete was freshly poured, the viewer had urged authorities to inspect the area, saying, “I think the police should look there.
“

İbrahim Ozan Düzgün, who was taken out of prison in the morning, was brought to the house in Osmaniye for a site reconstruction. At the spot pointed out by Düzgün, excavation work with heavy machinery was initiated under the supervision of a public prosecutor and homicide bureau teams. While efforts continue to find remains belonging to Mehmet Çabuk, it was stated that no findings had been reached yet as of the latest connection on the broadcast.
