Tragic accident in Kyrenia: 25-year-old young woman undergoes surgery

In a traffic accident that occurred this morning at around 07:55 on Karaoğlanoğlu Street in Kyrenia, 25-year-old K.D. was seriously injured.

According to information provided by the police, R.S. (46), driving the saloon car with the license plate PP 619, carelessly proceeded in an easterly direction and hit K.D. (25), who was trying to cross the road from the north to the south.

The young woman, who was seriously injured in the accident, was transferred to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia after initial intervention at Kyrenia Dr. Akçiçek Hospital. Diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, K.D. was taken into surgery.

The driver of the vehicle, R.S., has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.

Car rolls over at Düzova Junction: 3 injured

In an accident that occurred at around 06:00 on the Nicosia-Famagusta Main Road, a car hit an electric pole and rolled over.

While I.K.F. (32) was driving towards Nicosia with the vehicle bearing the license plate SZ 900, he lost control of the steering wheel upon reaching the Düzova Junction and crashed into an electric pole. The vehicle, which rolled over due to the impact, came to a stop on its roof in the middle of the road.

A person trapped inside the vehicle was rescued by the intervention of fire department teams.

The injured driver I.K.F. and passengers N.O.H. (21) and L.W. (22) were taken to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and placed under observation.

Accident on Osman Paşa Street in Nicosia: Both drivers drunk

In an accident that occurred last night at around 23:30 on Osman Paşa Street in Nicosia, it was determined that both drivers were under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police statement, F.G. (47), who was driving with 139 milligrams of alcohol and operating the vehicle with the license plate MV 689, blocked the path of the motorcycle with the license plate AA 130 H, driven by J.K. (35), who had 53 milligrams of alcohol, when making a turn at the Cengiz Han Street intersection without giving priority to oncoming vehicles. As a result, the two vehicles collided.

Motorcycle driver J.K., who was injured in the accident, was placed under observation in the Orthopedics Service after being diagnosed with a broken right kneecap following treatment at Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

Legal action has been initiated against both drivers who were involved in the accident while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Accident in Beyarmudu

In an accident that occurred at around 01:45 on Hüseyin Kafa Street in Beyarmudu, Z.B. (34), who was determined to have 189 milligrams of alcohol, was arrested.

According to information provided by the police, while Z.B. was driving with the vehicle bearing the license plate NK 589, he lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a parked vehicle with the license plate MC 469 on the left side of the road.

While no one was injured in the accident, the driver who caused the accident while driving under the influence of alcohol was arrested.

Police investigations regarding the four accidents are ongoing.
