Iran claims strikes on US and Israeli-linked targets across Gulf region
ran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced a new wave of attacks targeting US and Israeli-linked positions across the Gulf region, as tensions continue to escalate.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that it had carried out missile and armed drone strikes against locations where US forces are stationed in the United Arab Emirates, defence systems deployed around Manama airport in Bahrain, and early warning radar systems at the Ahmed al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait.
The statement said the attacks were part of the 88th wave of the so-called “Operation True Promise 4,” launched in response to US-Israeli strikes.
It added that Israeli and US targets were hit during the latest phase of the operation.
According to the IRGC, the operation—dedicated to senior commander Ali Reza Tangsiri, who was reportedly killed in earlier attacks on Iran—included a ballistic missile strike on a container ship in the Persian Gulf allegedly linked to Israel.
The statement further claimed that drone strikes targeted a US Marine gathering point off the UAE coast and defence systems deployed at Manama airport, while two early warning radar systems at Kuwait’s Ahmed al-Jaber Air Base were also hit.
Iranian officials said the wave of attacks is ongoing.
