Three explosions heard in Riyadh following attack alert
The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defence announced on its social media account that an early warning system had been activated across the capital.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing three consecutive explosions across the city following the alert.
Shortly afterward, the Civil Defence Directorate issued a second statement confirming that the “danger had passed,” though it did not provide further details regarding the nature of the incident.
Meanwhile, Arab Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki announced on social media platform X that a ballistic missile fired toward Riyadh by the Houthis in Yemen was intercepted and destroyed.
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have recently been launching attacks with ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting the capital Riyadh and several other regions across Saudi Arabia.
