Ercan Airport operator transfers 530.8 million TL in revenue share to Treasury
T&T Airport Management, the operator of Ercan Airport, has completed its revenue share payment for the third quarter of 2026. A total of 530,826,123.03 TL, including VAT, covering the months of July, August, and September, was deposited into the Ministry of Finance’s account to be transferred to the TRNC Treasury.
In a written statement, Emrullah Turanlı, Chairman of the Board of T&T Airport Management, stated that this payment demonstrates the vital role airport operations play in public revenue and economic activity.
Emphasizing that Ercan Airport is more than just a transportation hub, Turanlı described it as one of the lifelines of the TRNC economy and the country’s most important gateway to the outside world.
Turanlı noted that arriving tourists and passengers contribute significantly to economic vitality, driving business volume across various sectors, particularly tourism. He pointed out that the airport plays a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of a tourism-driven economic model.
Underlining that they consider contributing to the national economy a corporate responsibility, Turanlı said the aviation sector not only meets transport needs but also serves a vital function in driving economic growth and development.
Drawing attention to the importance of regular revenue share payments for public finances, Turanlı noted that a robust aviation infrastructure helps the country achieve its long-term economic goals.
“Every new passenger brings added economic value to the country’s economy,” Turanlı said. “Tourism revenues rise, businesses achieve greater transaction volumes, employment grows, and as a natural consequence, state tax revenues and revenue share earnings also increase.”
Turanlı emphasized that they view Ercan Airport as a strategic investment capable of meeting future demands, delivering international-standard services, and supporting revenue transfers to the economy, adding that investments will continue.
Dilek Conkbayır, Deputy General Manager of T&T Airport Management, also confirmed that a payment of 530,826,123.03 TL, including VAT, had been deposited into the TRNC Treasury as part of the revenue share for the third quarter of 2026.
