Rahvancıoğlu inspects municipal projects in Eskişehir

According to a statement released by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Rahvancıoğlu paid a courtesy visit to Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, accompanied by Lapta Başpınar Village Head (Muhtar) Coşkun Yılmaz.

During his tour, Rahvancıoğlu visited the Porsuk Stream, Odunpazarı Bazaar, Atlıhan Handicrafts Bazaar, the Wax Museum, Kentpark and its artificial beach, as well as the Fairy Tale Castle in Sazova.

Expressing that he was impressed by the municipal initiatives in Eskişehir, Rahvancıoğlu highlighted the social living spaces developed around water, particularly in a landlocked city.

“Central Anatolia’s yearning for water has been answered through municipal governance. In a landlocked city, the Kentpark Artificial Beach was created, and the Porsuk Stream was revitalised into vibrant spaces where the public can connect with water. Seeing these on-site was very impressive,” Rahvancıoğlu said, adding that projects directly touching people’s daily lives can be successfully delivered with sound budget planning.

Comparing what he observed in Eskişehir with the natural and touristic assets of the Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel (LAÇ) region, Rahvancıoğlu stated: “We, on the other hand, have our sea, coastlines, mountains, and unique natural beauty. Through proper planning, we can integrate these assets into our community’s daily life.”

Rahvancıoğlu explained that projects planned within this scope—such as Mare Monte, Tınaztepe Nature Park, the Lapta Life and Tourism Corridor, and Karşıyaka Nature Park—aim to provide the region with new social living spaces and vibrant community hubs.

Highlighting that the bazaars in Odunpazarı and Atlıhan unite cultural heritage and local craft production with tourism, Rahvancıoğlu said they aim to unlock the economic and social potential of the LAÇ region through a similar approach.

“While these areas enrich our community’s quality of life, they will also support our local shopkeepers, restaurants, transport, and tourism sectors. The examples we observed in Eskişehir have further heightened our excitement for the projects we envision for our region. With the right planning, we want to transform our existing natural gifts into living spaces accessible to everyone,” he said.
